This event will take place on 01 December 2009 at the Pentland Hotel in Thurso. The aim of these events is to raise awareness of recovery from mental health problems and encourage local action. The events are open to anyone with an interest in mental health, recovery and wellbeing. Future events will also be held in Oban (24 February 2010) and Stranraer (24 March 2010). Audio recordings available from Making Recovery Real national conference In February 2009, over 60 people contributed to the 12 parallel sessions at SRNs national conference 'Making Recovery Real'. We recorded the audio from each presentation audio and are pleased to announce that they now available on our website. The 29 audio recordings are an impressive resource and cover a vast range of topics, from personal perspectives on recovery to information about wellness planning. The recordings demonstrate the remarkable amount of work around recovery that is currently underway across Scotland. To listen to the audio visit the Multimedia section of our website. Event to consider peer support evaluation findings On 19 November 2009, Scottish Development Centre for Mental Health in partnership with SRN are co-ordinating and facilitating a free event in Dundee designed to disseminate learning arising from the soon to be published of five peer support pilot schemes evaluation and to consider how best to support the development of the Peer Support Worker role. The event should be of relevance to anyone with an interest in the promotion of recovery focused practice, peer support or service user involvement.
