Error Reporting and Disclosure Systems: View from Hospital Leaders

This survey of hospital chief executives and chief operations officers concludes
that most hospital leaders have substantial concerns about the impact of
mandatory, non-confidential reporting systems on hospital internal reporting,
liability, and overall patient safety. The survey pulled from hospital
executives from two states with mandatory reporting and public disclosure, from
two states with mandatory reporting without public disclosure, and from two
states without mandatory reporting systems.
