By December 8, 2008, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement aims to complete a campaign to protect patients from five million incidents of medical harm. The campaign will promote 12 specific healthcare improvements, including: preventing methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus infection; reducing harm from high-alert medications like anticoagulants; and delivering evidence-based care for congestive heart failure.
