Most Hospitals Reporting Quality Data
CMS recently reported that 93 percent of hospitals are reporting ‘voluntary’ quality data and are therefore eligible for a full market basket update of 3.3 percent in 2008. During FY07, participating hospitals reported on measures related to heart disease, heart failure, pneumonia, and surgery. Next year, hospitals have to report on 27 quality measures. Hospitals not reporting quality data receive a reduced market basket update. To get a copy of the CMS press release, please visit the Agency Web site.
