The new CD 'Music in a Foreign Language' is still on schedule for
June 9th
release on Sanctuary Records around the world except North America.

We are currently addressing the American situation and will keep you
posted.
As you may be aware, from previous releases, this means that the
import
export business from Europe to N America will be having a field day,
to a
certain degree at my expense..

So we are importing some copies ourselves FOR SALE IN N AMERICA ONLY.

The album should be readily available everywhere else and we'd
prefer you to
support your local retailer... however, it's your life, and you
might well
be able to get it one song at a time at Apple's shop.. If you really
can't
find it, then by all means we'll sell you one.. but please look
first,
thanks.

We should also add, in case you're interested, that sales through
our site,
or at shows, do not contribute to sales assessed for chart positions
in the
UK and Europe. There is a chance that first week sales could get us
in the
charts again .. and that could/would be nice as it tends to open the
door to
a bunch of opportunities not open to the 'washed up'..

In short, if you think you're definitely going to buy - week one
would
really help, thanks.

THE BAD NEWS

When we imported the French CDs for sale in N America and elsewhere
the $
was strong against the Euro and I was getting a pretty good price and
incurred little customs duty. I was therefore able to sell at regular
domestic price ($15).
This time around the $ is weak and I'm buying in Sterling and the
long and
the short is that my price has doubled.
I went to Amazon to see what prices were being quoted for similar
situations
- The latest Cardigans release (import) is going for more than $30!!
We will be selling this CD for $20 + shipping. And after re orders
(imminent) , the French CDs are likely to be a little more
expensive..

Also - please note - I will be away from home when the CDs come in -
ON
TOUR, so I won't be around to sign any of them. I will sign CDs
brought to
gigs when I am able, but I don't do this every night..

The shop area will be updated to reflect these changes. We will also
be
implementing some multi-item purchase discounts. I recently got hold
of some
US copies of The Negatives which were intended for promo use.. We
can sell
these for $10. There are about 30 box sets left, and then they are
gone.

PRE ORDERS

We will be accepting pre orders as of today but we do not expect to
ship
until release date.

SHOP HOLIDAYS

We will be on holiday / vacation the first 2 weeks of July.

BRIGHTER THAN USUAL IN THE RAINY COUNTRY

Things are not looking quite as depressing as usual on the UK front;
many
DJs seem to actually like the record and are playing it, and I've
just been
booked for Top of the Pops 2 (a television show), on June 5th, which
I
understand is TOTP for older folk.. I'll be playing 2 songs live
with my
guitar and they'll probably show some old footage in case you hadn't
noticed
how old I'm looking...

OTHER COUNTRIES

I know I'm repeating myself, but if you're wondering why I'm not
playing
Copenhagen or Sydney on this tour, it's because I intend to come
later in
the year.
