thought i'd drop a letter to explain to everyone what's going on:

**THE STROKES had to cancel three tour dates with weezer this week**

cleveland, OH - July 15
indianapolis, IN - July 17
columbus, OH - July 18

julian sustained a serious knee injury in Los Angeles late last week,
and
was unable to fly back to NYC in time to leave for the weezer tour.
he's on
crutches and is unable to get around well.....
he's feeling much better now though, and the doctors expect him to
recover
in time to do the final two weezer shows that we have planned (nashville
and
atlanta), as long as he stays off his knee for a while.
we sincerely apologize to all the disappointed fans, we regret to ever
have
to cancel a show.

here's some quick news:

*THE FACE MAGAZINE WITH THE STROKES ON COVER - OUT THIS WEEK!*

-i apologize that i gave you guys the wrong issue last time...i meant
the
AUGUST issue, which comes out in july....not the JULY issue.
anyway, look for that this week....it's a LONG, LONG story...very
in-depth.


*'SOMEDAY' VIDEO IS COMPLETE!*

-should be on MTV and MTV2 in the US within the next two weeks or so....
also look for it around the world on channels like VIVA, MUCH MUSIC,
CHANNEL
V, and all the MTV channels throught south america, mexico, and europe.
-the video includes cameos by SLASH, DUFF, and MATT SORUM (formerly of
GUNS
N' ROSES) and includes footage of an actual game of FAMILY FEUD that the
strokes played against GUIDED BY VOICES...
note: (FAMILY FEUD is a popular american game show on TV, for those not
in
the states)
-the CD-single will be released around the world (including the U.S., so
don't buy the expensive IMPORTS!) with special b-sides depending on what
country....
they'll most likely be old 4-track DEMO recordings of the a couple of
the
songs from IS THIS IT, that the band did prior to recording the album.
-look for the CD-single and 7" of 'SOMEDAY' in EUROPE and U.K. at the
end of
AUGUST, and in the rest of the world a bit later...


*THE STROKES / WHITE STRIPES 2nd SHOW ADDED in DETROIT*

-we've added a 2nd show at CLUTCH CARGOS in detroit with the WHITE
STRIPES
** Aug. 7th, 2002 **
-TIX GO ON SALE THIS FRIDAY **JULY 19th, at 10am EST (9am CENTRAL)**
-i think this is just going to be internet/phones sales....call CLUTCH
CARGOS for additional info as to where to find tix...good luck!!!

~~the RADIO CITY and IRVING PLAZA shows with the WHITE STRIPES have sold
out
EXTREMELY fast, as has the CHENE PARK show in detroit!!~~
!! this is the FINAL show we'll add with them !!


*SOUTH AMERICA, CHECK THIS OUT*

-in CHILE,
ALBERT did an interview with 'ZONA DE CONTACTO' magazine that ran last
week
also, the interview was on radio at '40 PRINCIPALES'

-in ARGENTINA

-in BRAZIL
hope you caught THE STROKES on 'TV FANTASTICO'
they were interviewed and on TV FANTASTICO on june 23rd, last month.
i just found this out, otherwise i would have let you know earlier...the
world is BIG, hard to keep track of! sorry...
and...if you think you saw Fabrizio in Rio last week...you probably did,
he
was visiting family and taking some time to himself down in brazil for
about
a week...he's now back home in NYC.


*THE STROKES MTV2 SPECIAL WILL BE ON T.V. IN THESE COUNTRIES*

-if you remember, THE STROKES filmed a 30 minute concert TV special for
MTV2
back in February....we're going to broadcast that TV show in countries
around the world....these are the first ones that we have news from!

JAPAN - on NHK in early September
BRAZIL - on MTV in August
South East Asia - on Channel V in Mid August

*U.S. TOUR BEING FINALIZED NOW*

-i can tell you that the U.S./CAN. tour will likely, BUT NOT DEFINITELY,

....we LOVE you, we really do....it's not that, it's just you can only
play
so many cities per tour....we try to alternate different cities on
different
tours, if you long-term fans remember....that would be why you don't see
lawrence KS, or houston TX, or FLORIDA, or jackson MS, etc. for example,
we
played them on the last tour....we PROMISE, we'll get there next
time.....

i can't kill these boys and have them play EVERY single city in the
country
on each tour.....they've been on the road A LOT this year....
get tix to the city closest to you, or hang in there for the next tour!!
we do understand how hard it is to travel just for a rock show,
though...our
sincerest apologies if you feel like your city is being snubbed...


*'MUSIC CONNECTION' MAGAZINE, on the COVER*

-THE STROKES will be on the cover of MUSIC CONNECTION available
throughout
the U.S., but mostly NY and CALIFORNIA....** it comes out AUGUST 1st **
-there are interviews with fab, albert, nikolai, and...me!


*FAN CLUB UPDATE*

-letters will go out within the next couple weeks to all you patient
folks
who sent S.A.S.E.'s

everyone is finally back in NYC, getting ready for these summer shows
with
weezer and the white stripes and of course, THE READING/LEEDS FESTIVAL
in
august...also writing and rehearsing new material...
