| ROME ARCHAEOLOGICAL NEWS: Palatino / Vigna Barberini: riemerge una imponente struttura di epoca neroniana. MIBAC (29.09.2009). "...La Soprintendenza Speciale per i Beni Archeologici di Roma annuncia un importante ritrovamento sul colle Palatino, nell´area della Vigna Barberini. È verosimile ipotizzare che sia stato trovato il sito dove sorgeva la coenatio rotunda descritta da Svetonio nella Vita dei Cesari: la sala da pranzo della Domus Aurea di Nerone che girava giorno e notte
imitando il movimento della terra. Fino ad oggi, da molti studiosi era stata identificata nella sala ottagonale sul Colle Oppio. È noto infatti, lo attestano gli autori antichi, che la residenza di Nerone arrivava fino al colle Oppio, ma sorgeva in gran parte sul Palatino." The SAR of Rome, announced that a major discovery was made on the Palatine Hill, in the area of the Vigna Barberini. The SAR believes that its seems plausible to assume that scholars have found the site where the "rotunda coenatio" stood, as described by Suetonius in "The Lives of the Caesars" [written ca. 121 AD], referring too the dining room of the Domus Aurea of Nero, etc; Until now, many scholars had identified this site in the octagonal room on the Colle Oppio. ~ Besides the news report from the MIBAC, I added supplimentary information to the MIBAC news, such as Reconstruction Models and Informational Panels of the Domus Augustana
