Dear members,
First of all my apologies for not writting in Italian. In exhibit
catalogue: Roma Sotterranea: Porta San Sebastiano, 15 Ottobre 1984-
14 Gennaio 1985, in the section on the fori Imperiali - Foro di
Augusto p. 128, it was reported that a burial was discovered in the
Foro di Augusto:
"In recenti saggi (1967), effettuati al di sotto della fondazione
augustea, si e` rinvenuta una necropoli rilente alle prime fasi
dell` eta del ferro."
Also in the book: The Imperial Forums and Trajan Market / by Roberto
Meneghini and Lucrezia Ungaro ; [translation by Isobel Butters
Caleffi]. Rome : F.lli Palombi, c1993; Dott. Meneghini reports that
in 1973 ceramics dating from the Iron age was discovered in the
Forum of Augustus.
After searching in numerous publications I cannot find any other
references citing these discoveries? I would be grateful if anyone
could please direct me to the proper published resources!
Thank You
